Questions, answered plainly

Cost, speed, credit, documents, and what it means to work with a broker. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

Cost and how we get paid

Does it cost anything to apply?

No. Applying, getting matched, and reviewing offers is free. You pay nothing to Stone Bridge unless a deal funds.

How does Stone Bridge make money?

The funding partner pays us a placement fee when your deal funds. On most products that fee is built into the offer you see, so there is no separate invoice from us. Where a fee is charged to you directly, it is disclosed in writing before you sign.

Are there hidden fees?

Origination fees, ACH fees, and prepayment terms are all listed in the funding agreement. We go through that page with you line by line before signing. If a partner tries to add a fee after approval, we walk.

Speed

How fast can I actually get money?

Merchant cash advances fund in 24 to 48 hours after signing. Lines of credit and cards take a few days. Term loans take up to a week because they require more documentation.

What slows a file down?

Missing bank statements, a mismatch between the application and the statements, and slow responses to a funder's questions. If you send complete documents on day one, most files are decided the same day.

Credit and qualifying

Will applying hurt my credit?

Getting matched and seeing offers uses a soft pull, which does not affect your score. A hard pull only happens if you accept an offer that requires one, and we tell you before that happens.

I have bad credit. Can I still get funded?

Often, yes. Merchant cash advances and some lines of credit are underwritten on revenue rather than credit score. Term loans and credit cards are more credit-sensitive.

I already have an advance. Can I get another?

Usually, if the existing one is more than half paid and the business can support the combined payments. We will tell you honestly if the stack is getting too heavy.

What is the minimum revenue?

Around $10,000 a month for most products. Below that, business credit cards are usually the only option.

Documents and process

What do I need to apply?

A one-page application and your last four months of business bank statements gets almost every file started. Term loans add tax returns and a profit and loss statement.

Do I have to accept an offer?

No. You see terms side by side and can decline all of them. There is no obligation at any point before you sign a funding agreement.

Who am I dealing with once I sign?

The funding partner services the account — payments, payoff letters, renewals. We stay involved: if something goes wrong, call us first and we will get it fixed.

Working with a broker

Why not go to a lender directly?

You can. The advantage of a broker is that one application reaches a dozen funders, and you see competing terms instead of one take-it-or-leave-it offer. We also know which funders like which industries, so files land where they get approved.

Are you a lender?

No. Stone Bridge Funding Group is a business funding broker. We place your file with funding partners and lenders. Terms, approval, and servicing are theirs.
