Merchant Cash Advance
An advance against your future sales, repaid as a fixed daily or weekly amount. No collateral, no fixed-term interest, and money in the account in one to two business days.
Who this is for
A good fit if
- You need cash this week to cover payroll, inventory, or a deposit
- Revenue is steady but the bank has already said no
- Your credit score is not the strongest part of the file
- You take card or bank deposits daily and can absorb a small daily remittance
Probably not if
- You need multi-year money for a large purchase — look at a term loan
- Revenue is seasonal and would strain a daily remittance
- You already carry more than two open advances
How repayment works
You receive a lump sum today and agree to pay back a fixed total — the advance plus a factor. That total is collected as a set amount from your bank account each business day (or each week), so a good day and a slow day cost the same. There is no interest rate; the cost is set up front and does not grow if you pay on schedule.
What you'll need
- Four most recent months of business bank statements
- A one-page application
- Copy of your ID
- Voided business check
Questions people ask about this
Is a merchant cash advance a loan?
No. It is a purchase of a portion of your future receivables at a discount. That is why the cost is a factor rate rather than an interest rate, and why it is typically not reported to consumer credit bureaus.
What is a factor rate?
A multiplier applied to the advance. A $50,000 advance at a 1.25 factor means you pay back $62,500 in total. Factor rates on the files we place typically run between 1.15 and 1.45 depending on risk.
Can I pay it off early?
Many funders offer a prepayment discount. We ask for one on every file we place, and you will see it in the terms before you sign.
Will this hurt my personal credit?
Most MCA funders run a soft pull and do not report the advance to consumer bureaus. Some report to business bureaus, which can help build a business credit profile.
